MEETING THE NEED
Almarai’s mission — to provide quality, nutritious food and beverages that enrich its customers’ lives every day — underscores the fact that quality is a fundamental part of the organization. The company’s corporate quality strategy embraces three main pillars of quality and food safety.
One Almarai Quality: Ensure standardization and integration of all quality systems, including ISO, FSCC, or GFSI-aligned certification, as well as ensure supplier qualifications and internal quality auditing align to the same standards
Quality and Food Safety Transformation: Review supplier risk management and specifications, as well as food safety developments
Excellence Culture: Support a culture of quality awareness across the organization, ensuring that the company’s core values are aligned with its quality actions
Like other enterprises, Almarai’s journey to quality focused on meeting the compliance needs of its quality function. Before working with ETQ, the company had no standard way of managing documents; systems at some locations were completely manual, while others used a patchwork of software programs. In addition, each factory managed its compliance needs slightly differently.

"Purple needed a place to store technical documents. They were being created and put into people's personal desktops and SharePoint folders and needed a solution allowing everyone on the team to easily access everything. Everyone receives access to ETQ on the first day they're hired"

Almarai started its quality journey with ETQ in 2015, first implementing document management. Since then, the company has deployed various ETQ modules to provide a centralized location from which to manage compliance-related tasks.

FILLING
THE GAP
With ETQ Reliance in place, Almarai has effectively shortened approval cycles. Additionally, the company can better manage its voice of customer efforts. For example, the company uses an ETQ-powered ticketing system to integrate connected processes — including customer complaints gathered via social media and its telephony system — to manage the entire voice of customer process, from registering complaints to issuing resolution letters.
Thanks to ETQ, Almarai better understands its data and feels more confident on its journey toward Quality 4.0.
